The REG710NA-3.3/3K is a 3.3-V fixed-output switched-capacitor DC-DC converter from Texas Instruments. It uses a buck-boost charge-pump architecture to generate a regulated output from an unregulated input without requiring an external inductor.
The device operates from a wide 1.8 V to 5.5 V input range and automatically performs step-up or step-down conversion depending on the relationship between the input and regulated output voltage. This allows the 3.3-V output to remain regulated even when the input voltage moves above or below the output voltage.
The REG710 family uses a 1-MHz internal oscillator, allowing relatively small external capacitors and helping reduce the overall PCB area compared with inductor-based switching converters. The architecture also provides low input-current ripple and low output-voltage ripple.
The REG710NA-3.3/3K can deliver up to 30 mA of output current and has a typical quiescent current of 65 µA. An enable input allows the converter to be placed into shutdown mode when the regulated output is not required.
