TLV70328DBVR Overview

The TLV70328DBVR is a 2.8-V fixed-output low-dropout linear regulator from Texas Instruments. It belongs to the TLV703 family of low-quiescent-current LDOs designed for power-sensitive applications that require stable regulation, low dropout and high power-supply rejection.

The device operates from a 2.0 V to 5.5 V input supply and provides a regulated 2.8 V output with up to 300 mA of load current. Its typical quiescent current is 35 µA, making it suitable for battery-powered electronics and other systems where low standby consumption is important.

For the 2.8-V version, the TLV703 specifies a typical dropout voltage of 37 mV at 50 mA, 75 mV at 100 mA and 220 mV at 300 mA. These low-dropout characteristics allow efficient regulation when the input voltage is relatively close to the required output voltage.

The TLV703 family provides 68 dB typical PSRR at 1 kHz and is designed for excellent line and load transient performance. This helps suppress input-supply variation and noise before it reaches sensitive downstream circuits.

The regulator remains stable with an effective capacitance of only 0.1 µF and regulates to the specified accuracy with no output load. This allows designers to use small and cost-effective capacitors while keeping the external circuit compact.
